I just found this cool website with free tracker things. It is called Lilypie and is very cool. You can track all sorts of things. It will be cool when I finally get pregnant and I can use it as a tracker for that, at the moment I just one on my igoogle page for my cycle.

Visitors!

I was dragged out of the shower on Sunday morning a few weeks ago by my darling husband yelling "Get out here now!" Like the obedient wife I am I obeyed, and was told to look out the kitchen window.

We have a pond and waterfall that my husband built in our backyard and without my glasses after peering out the window I saw a duck in the pond. Luckily the camera was just on the table so I grabbed it and on zooming in on the duck, noticed she had nine ducklings with here.

Here is one of the cutest photos. They stayed for a couple of hours before heading back to the lake a couple of blocks away.

Wow Blog Post #2!

Well. Having come through my first blog relatively unscathed, I thought I might venture into blog number two.

I recently went to Taranaki with my husband to visit his mum. It was his birthday, and being a huge dinosaur fan (2nd only to Cliff Richard!!??!?!) we scheduled in a visit to Sue. Sue is the T-Rex currently on display at Puke Ariki. It was quite impressive, next time we visit I hope to have more time to check out the rest of the displays and the library.

Uni is currently on week two of the holidays, so I don't have classes, but still have work to do. Unfortunately the very frustrating password change software through Victoria Uni has locked me out so I am unable to access a lot of class detail.

In the meantime I've been having a crash lesson in HTML. As part of my Digital Technologies paper I have to create a website. This is a very useful skill but a challenge to learn. Once I have done the web page for my assignment I'll have a go at creating a website for my husband's new business. He is a personal trainer and the business is called 'Bodystorm'.

First ever Blog Post

Welcome to my first ever Blog!

I am studying through Victoria University of Wellington doing my Masters in Library and Information Studies. As part of that degree I am completing a paper INFO525, Digital Technologies. One of the requirements of that paper is to create a blog, so here I am!

Writing a blog is one of those things that I have always meant to start, however I've never actually got around to it. This has been the motivation that I needed. Interestingly enough my sister just emailed me the link to her blog today so that was an extra incentive.

Some of the other things that I've done as part of my INFO525 paper are editing an image, creating an audio file, creating a spreadsheet, and creating a powerpoint. By the end of the paper I will be able to create and upload a webpage.

I am hoping that by doing this paper I might be able to bring the public library I work for into the 21st century. We have a website but that is about the extent of our 'techno' activities. I think it is important for libraries, especially public to embrace new technologies, not only to keep people interested but also to enable us to pass on knowledge and information to others.
